Death Stranding 2 State of Play Trailer Revealed, Game Coming 2025

The recent State of Play gave us a glimpse of what's to come for PlayStation, including the new trailer for Death Stranding 2. As well as revealing the game's subtitle, we were also treated to a launch window, all wrapped in Hideo Kojima's signature weirdness.

A sarcastic puppet boyfriend? Sure why not

In the recent trailer – which lasts over nine and a half minutes – we get a taste of Death Stranding 2, complete with gameplay. We're also told it will be called “On the Beach.”

As for what you can find in the teaser, fans of the original DS will already know the main characters and settings. Norman Reedus returns as Sam Porter Bridges, and we see the sequel to the first installment, so there are plenty of spoilers in the video below.

In terms of release date, there's no exact day yet, but we do know that it will arrive in 2025. That gives us about a year, if not a little longer, to wait and see where Kojima Productions takes its big IP.

Much like 2019's Death Stranding, the upcoming sequel will be exclusive to PS5. There's no mention of a PC port yet, but many expect it to come to Windows at some point.

The State of Play trailer for Death Stranding 2 does a fantastic job of drawing us in. We know that the game will have many strange moments and a complicated plot. It just wouldn't be a Kojima game without these elements.
