Man United’s Ten Hag: Rashford, Sancho rule breaks different،

Erik ten Hag says the sanctions handed out to Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho over indiscretions were different because 'Jadon chose to go public'.

Rashford is available for Manchester United's Premier League match against Wolves on Thursday following clear discussions with Ten Hag on Monday following the England striker's ill-advised trip to Belfast last week.

Sancho, meanwhile, is currently on loan at former club Borussia Dortmund after publicly questioning the reasons why Ten Hag removed him from the squad for a match at Arsenal in September.

Sancho was forced to train alone for more than four months while Rashford trained normally with his teammates on Monday and Ten Hag claims the different approaches came down to Sancho's now-deleted post on X, formerly Twitter.

“We can resolve everything internally. Jadon chose to make it public,” Ten Hag said.

Rashford got into trouble after he declared himself too ill to train on Friday following a night out in Belfast on Thursday.

He also missed training on Saturday and was absent from the 4-2 win over Newport County in the FA Cup on Sunday. Rashford is expected to return to the team against Wolves, although he may have to settle for a place on the bench.

“First of all, players at this level have to manage themselves, that's what you can demand from the player,” Ten Hag said at a press conference on Wednesday.

“The player must know what is good and what is not. When you want to play top-level football, it requires a certain lifestyle. Always.”

Rashford and Sancho aren't the only ones breaking Ten Hag's strict rules.

The Dutchman also fell out with Cristiano Ronaldo before his move to Al Nassr and disciplined Argentine teenager Alejandro Garnacho. Ten Hag, however, insists he is not there to guard his players.

“No, come on, we’re talking about the best football players,” he said.

“I don't need to educate them anymore. When you play for Man United, they should know.
