Arsenal dominated possession but struggled to threaten Forest's goal before Jesus finally broke the deadlock in the 65th minute. The Forest defense switched off on a throw-in and the ball fell to Jesus who fired through the legs of goalkeeper Matt Turner from an incredibly tight angle.

Arteta's side doubled their lead in the 72nd minute when Jesus played a ball to Saka who fired across goal. Turner got his hands on the ball but not enough to hold it.

Forest substitute Taiwo Awoniyi pulled one back to energize the crowd in the 89th minute, pushing the ball past David Raya from close range, then the Arsenal keeper made a terrific save for Arsenal in the final minutes to ensure victory.
