Dwain Chambers, 45, set to race at UK Indoor Championships،

Dwain Chambers is set to compete in the 60m sprint at the British Indoor Championships at the age of 45.

The British sprinter qualified for the event after clocking 6.81 seconds in a competition earlier this year.

Chambers, who won the world indoor title in 2010, served a two-year ban for doping between 2004 and 2006 and last raced for Great Britain in 2014.

The qualifying time for the World Indoor Championships, which will take place in Glasgow from March 1-3, is 6.58 seconds.

Chambers set a junior world record in the 100m of 10.06 in 1997 before becoming the youngest world medalist in the event when he won bronze at the 1999 World Championships. He finished fourth in the final of the 100m at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

He announced his retirement in July 2017 but returned to race at the British Indoor Championships in 2019 where he was disqualified in the semi-final for a false start.

Chambers twice attempted to qualify as an American football player and also had an unsuccessful trial at Rugby League club Castleford Tigers in 2008.
