Samsung lets you customize color settings on its phones, but early adopters have noticed that this screen mode doesn't work as it should on the Galaxy S24.
For those who want their screen to be vibrant, Samsung recommends switching from Natural screen mode (which displays accurate colors) to Vivid. On previous Samsung phones the difference was visible when Vivid was chosen, but on the Galaxy S24there is practically no change, for complaints on Reddit And X.
On the Galaxy S24switching to Vivid doesn't make the screen more saturated or rich, which is a turnoff for users who find Natural dull and washed out.

It's not that Natural, which is the standard display mode, makes everything silent. It aims to display accurate, true-to-life colors, so everything looks natural. It's also easier on the eyes, especially when you're looking at the screen for long periods of time.

Vivid mode improves brightness, contrast and sharpness and also makes the screen more visible outdoors.

Samsung notes on its website that software versions could affect settings and that appears to be the case here. The issue appears to be related to One UI 6.1 and a Reddit user claims that Samsung is aware of the issue and will fix it with a software update.

THE Galaxy S24 the series will officially go on sale tomorrow, although some units have shipped early. Either way, it's a relief for potential buyers that the vivid mode issue isn't hardware-related and Samsung is already working on a fix. Previously, there were rumors that the Galaxy S24 Ultra's anti-glare coating, which happens to be one of the phone's best features, was the cause of the problem.
