Bittersweet! The only iPhone 16 model you should wait for is the 6.3-inch iPhone 16 Pro،
After a recent story about why it's a bad idea to wait for the new iPhone 16 series, it might come as a bit of a surprise that I'm now advising you to wait for the iPhone16 Pro.
THE “catch“that's what I mean iPhone16 particular model – not the iPhone16, iPhone16 Plus, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the smallest iPhone16 Pro.
And the reason is this the iPhone16 Pro will most likely be the dream iPhone upgrade for those who own older 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch, 5.8-inch, and 6.1-inch iPhones. One of those people is me.
The only iPhone 16 model you should wait for is the 6.3-inch iPhone 16 Pro
Sitting between the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max, the 6.3-inch iPhone 16 Pro (left) is rumored to be the best iPhone for most people. Unless you like the idea of a massive iPhone 16 Pro Max (right).
- Now this is going to be strictly subjective, but I think iPhone16 The Pro's 6.3-inch screen size (compared to 6.1 inches on the iPhone 15 Pro) will be the happy medium between my old iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max I'm currently using.
I love the large screen of the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the two-handed typing experience on the 6.7-inch screen. However, using the phone with/without a case is a no-no – at least in my experience. Then, thinking back to the iPhone 14 Pro (which I traded in) and its 6.1-inch screen, I have to say that it seemed a little small for what is considered these days a ” normal screen size”.
- Speaking of the perfect phone size, I can't ignore the mention of my trusty and only 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini (still my main phone), which is getting a little too small even for my liking (especially for my view); Obviously, coming from such a compact device, I appreciate being able to get the most out of what Apple has to offer in 2024 in the 6.3-inch size of the iPhone16 Pro rather than the huge 6.9 inches iPhone 16 Pro Max
According to the latest leaks/rumors, the iPhone 16 Pro will add another 7g to the weight of the iPhone 15 Pro (187g) for a total weight of 194g. That seems about right considering the larger screen and the new 5x zoom camera with periscope mechanism.
- Besides the appeal of size, the iPhone16 Pro should share the same 5x zoom camera as the iPhone 16 Pro Maxwhile other leaked/rumored upgrades are a new Capture button for taking photos/videos and a 48 MP ultra-wide camera (up from 12 MP), which has been a long time coming.
With the new 5x periscope zoom camera (for the smaller model), an all-new 48 MP ultra-wide camera, a new Capture button for taking photos/videos, camera upgrades on the iPhone 16 model 6.3-inch Pro is currently taking shape. be quite substantial. Depending on how you choose to look at it, that would make the 16 Pro the biggest camera upgrade in Apple's 2024 lineup (compared to the iPhone 15 series).
iPhone 16 Pro: Is Apple making what could be your favorite iPhone?
The iPhone 13 mini is my favorite iPhone of all time because it combines Steve Jobs' idea of the perfect iPhone size with Apple's modern features and design, making it unique.
So for people who appreciate the ability to use their phone one-handed and don't feel like they're carrying a brick, but still want a premium flagship experience… iPhone16 Pro may not just be the best, but the only phone that can give you that.
For those who would say that the Galaxy S24 and Pixel 8 are very much in the conversation about amazing compact phones, that's absolutely true. The difference is that these aren't the flagship phones from Samsung and Google.
Contrary to rumor iPhone16 Pro, which should once again become Apple's most high-end iPhone alongside the iPhone 16 Pro Max – but with a smaller screen (and battery).
Once again, Apple gives iPhone users a very good reason to hate and ignore the iPhone 16 Pro
How about a new design, Apple?
I suppose that iPhone16 Pro turns me on in a very…basic way, if that makes sense. I know it won't be much different from iPhone 15 Pro (since this one received substantial improvements last year) but after using the 6.1in iPhone 14 Pro and 6.7 inches iPhone 15 Pro MaxI would love to have an iPhone, which falls between the two in terms of size.
The grabbable camera goes from a 12MP zoom and 12MP UWA to a combination of 48MP zoom and UWA sensors (especially applying to the 6.3-inch). iPhone16 Pro) are also very promising. Keep in mind that Apple might be hiding other surprises that we haven't heard about yet.
Considering all of this, I think iPhone16 Pro has a solid chance of becoming one of my favorite iPhones. But I'm not going to lie to you… What doesn't really excite me is the fact that the iPhone16 The design of the Pro is expected to be the same as all five Apple iPhones released so far. And that… stings.
I'm looking forward to the iPhone 16 Pro as it promises to be a super premium flagship in a relatively compact form. However, I'm not really excited about Apple's (rumored) decision to keep the exact same design as the iPhone 15 Pro.
Despite my personal complaint regarding the repetitive design of the iPhone16 Pro, from 6.1 inches iPhone 14 Pro was nothing extraordinary, and the 6.1-in. iPhone 15 Pro missed Apple's new 5x periscope zoom camera, it feels like the iPhone16 Pro is the (relatively) compact premium iPhone that could replace your small iPhone.
