Nintendo Switch 2 Could Have an 8-Inch Screen

By now, most people probably know that a Nintendo Switch the successor is almost certainly in development at this point. While we don't know the details yet, a new report suggests the console's screen size.

Nearly two inches larger than the original

In a recent report from Bloomberg, the successor to the Nintendo Switch – so far simply called “Switch 2” – could come with an 8-inch LC screen. This is what Hiroshi Hayase, analyst at Omdia, says.

While Nintendo itself has kept its cards close to its chest regarding tracking the hybrid system, it has also been suggested that we could see it launch this year, perhaps in time for the holidays.

If what the analyst says about the screen is true, that means the new Switch console will be much larger than the original model, which has a 6.2-inch screen. It will also be larger than the OLED version released in 2021, which has a 7-inch screen.

As always with these speculations, it's best to take everything said at face value for now. We have no official confirmation regarding the Switch's successor. However, there are rumors that the developers have already started working on games for the device.

THE Nintendo Switch became a phenomenal success when it was released in 2017. Currently, it has sold over 132 million units worldwide. As it approaches its seventh anniversary, we're reaching the end of the console's lifecycle, meaning a follow-up is surely imminent at this point.
