Recent updates for YouTube Android app may cause crashing for some users،
Recent updates to the YouTube app for Android have reportedly caused crashes for a number of users. Although it doesn't affect everyone, problem reports started popping up about a week ago on different social media platforms, citing an unreliable experience when trying to use the app. The problem occurs when loading videos, but no description, comment or linked video will appear. After a few seconds the app crashes and closing the app and restarting it simply repeats the process.
Has anyone else experienced this really annoying problem with YouTube for Android over the last few weeks where it loads the video and starts playing, but no UI ever appears, then the app launches a ANR (application not responding)? pic.twitter.com/senV8eaWnT

As mentioned by 9to5Google, at this point the only two options available to immediately correct the situation are to revert to an older version of the app or install the beta version. While it seems simple enough, going back to an older version of the app doesn't necessarily guarantee that you'll end up on an older version when the problem started, and installing the beta version might prove difficult given the program Android beta for the YouTube app is still full. Another option could be to download the beta version of the app, but this is a practice that is generally not recommended for inexperienced users.
Hopefully, a working version of the YouTube Android app will be available soon for all affected users. YouTube is a widely used app and not being able to use it on your Android device could seriously impact your smartphone experience.
