Motorola makes yet another low-cost phone official, and this one packs a HUGE 6,000mAh battery،

Even though it's still only January, no one will blame you if you've already lost count of all the new budget smartphones Motorola has officially unveiled this year.

It all started with the aptly named Moto G Play (2024) last week, which was followed by a surprisingly similar Moto G24 and an even humbler G04 model a few days ago. We can now officially welcome the recently leaked Moto G24 Power, and while four devices announced in less than a month doesn't seem like such a high number to lose track of, Motorola's brand conventions and regional restrictions make it incredibly difficult to remember the main selling points and strengths of each phone.
This is of course in general, because the hot new G24 Power holds a very clear and very significant advantage over the aforementioned “normal” Moto G24, as well as virtually all of the best budget phones available today.

Has anyone been asking for a new battery life champion?

If so, you're in luck: this latest addition to the Moto G Power lineup dwarfs many of its predecessors with a gigantic 6,000 mAh battery. This represents an increase over the 5,000 mAh cell capacity of the simply titled Moto G Power 5G (2023), as well as the 4G LTE-only Moto G Power (2022).
But Motorola actually paved the way for this new model with the Moto G54 Power, aka G54 Power Edition, which saw the light of day in India in September 2023 with, you guessed it, an enlarged 6,000 mAh battery under its hood.

Coincidence or not, the Moto G24 Power also appears to be an India-exclusive affair, although if the G54's history is any indication, that will likely change soon with expansion into a number of European markets and unfortunately not good ones availability prospects in North America.

Compared to the MediaTek Dimensity 7020-based G54 Power, the G24 Power unsurprisingly packs a lower-end Helio G85 processor while also sporting a significantly lower-quality 6.56-inch display with HD+ resolution instead of FHD+ and technology 90Hz refresh rate instead of 120Hz.

This may seem disappointing, even bitterly disappointing, to some of you bargain hunters reading today, but it could prove to be a blessing in disguise, taking battery life to previously unexperienced heights .

Oddly, Motorola, typically boastful, does not advertise in this area. beyond the gargantuan size of the cell, but with such a thrifty chipset and display, it seems pretty realistic to expect to shave two or three days of typical use between charges from this absolutely massive battery. And that, our friends, is how you beat all the best phones in the world in an area that means a lot to many people around the world.

Release date and price expectations

Are you eager to spend as much money on Motorola as the company wants just to get your hands on its latest battery king? Unfortunately, you'll have to wait until January 30 for Flipkart and other “major retail stores” in India to launch their official Moto G24 Power sales… at an unspecified price.

Since the Moto G54 5G normally starts at Rs. 9,999. Priced at 17,999 in the region, this 4G LTE-only device could well cost as little as Rs 10,000 in an entry-level configuration with 128GB of internal storage space and 4GB of RAM. That works out to a measly $120, although again, we sadly don't expect the G24 Power to ever be officially released in the US.

But the ultra-affordable phone is expected to land in Europe in the relatively near future at very reasonable prices in the aforementioned variant, along with a slightly premium model combining 8GB of memory with 256GB of storage.

Both variants also feature RAM Boost technology designed to improve multitasking (provided you have free storage), as well as 30W super-fast charging capabilities, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and pre-installed modules. Android 14 software. As for long-term support, Motorola can currently commit to just one major OS upgrade and three years of security patches, which is… not great but not terrible neither.

Last but not least, the Moto G24 Power also packs a surprisingly solid 50 MP main camera backed by a…probably useless 2 MP macro sensor on the back while still promising to produce decent selfies with a single shooter 16 MP frontal housed in a “modern”. ” centered hole punch. In short, we really don't see any major breaks here, at least if this thing turns out to be as affordable as we've been led to hope by a few reputable tipsters and leakers.
