There is no doubt that iPhone users should install iOS 17.3 as soon as possible. The update, which arrived last Monday, includes the all-important Stolen Device Protection feature that makes it harder for someone to get your password and turn your iPhone into an iPhone, allowing them to access your apps financial and your personal data. The update also includes Apple Music Collaborative Playlist which lets your friends help you create a playlist on your iPhone that they can edit and rearrange at their discretion.
Yet another feature allows AirPlay to stream content to the TV in select hotel rooms. And earlier today, we told you that iOS 17.3 fixed 16 serious vulnerabilities, and Apple said it believed one of them could have been exploited. So, in addition to the new features, the fact of having corrected certain flaws by Apple makes the new iOS version one that you should not wait to install. To do this, go to Settings > General > Software update and follow the directions.
But the original poster of this thread failed to install the update. The phone in question is his wife's iPhone 12 Pro Max and a Redditor with the username ShibamMandal suggested that iPhone users couldn't install it. iOS 17.3 go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. From there, erase the iOS 17.3 update from the applications list. Next, force restart your iPhone by following these instructions:
  • Quickly press and release the volume up button.
  • Quickly press and release the volume down button.
  • Press and hold the side button.
  • When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

Once you restart the iPhone, go to General > Software update and try to install iOS 17.3 again. Other Redditors claim to have used this workaround in the past to download stubborn software updates.

There is one major caveat. While downloading the update, try to avoid your internet connection being interrupted, as some believe this is the main reason why the software update is not installed on your iPhone.
