Vote now: Pixel 9 Pro leaked design—hot or not?

The rumor mill never stops, it seems. The Galaxy S24 series was officially revealed on January 17, but it looks like we now have another launch to look forward to. The Pixel 9 series. We know it's way too early to speculate on what these devices will look like, but nonetheless, there is the first leaked render of a purported Pixel 9 Pro. The leak in question comes from OnLeaks and represents a rather drastic design change, compared to the last three generations of Pixel phones. The alleged Pixel 9 Pro looks much flatter than anything we've ever seen from Google.

The sides now resemble those of an iPhone, with right angles and no curvature. The corner rounding is also very similar to some extent to the latest iPhones and Galaxies, and the trademark Camera Bar is now an oval bump on the back of the device.

The plausibility of this leak can be debated; Our honest opinion is that Google is unlikely to make this radical design change, but there is another important question. Do we need a new design for the Pixel line?

Google has tweaked the Pixel's design over the past three years, sticking to the camera bar philosophy with minor changes to color schemes. While Galaxies and iPhones have looked very similar over the past couple of generations, Google seems to be following the same path.

Leaked design renders of the Pixel 9 Pro could be something more than a media stunt aimed at getting cheap clicks.
