The successors to the Galaxy S23 will not redefine the winning formula that has defined the premium Galaxy lineup for the past few years, but will introduce surgically implemented changes that will perfect the recipe.

How would the lack of major changes reflect the battery sizes of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24? The biggest drummer Galaxy S24 Ultra won’t deviate much from its predecessors and will most likely stick to the 5,000 mAh capacity that has recently become a standard for large Android phones. Samsung has used 5,000 mAh batteries on all of its Ultra phones since the very first one (the Galaxy S20 Ultra). Is it time to change? Even if that’s the case, consider this: a 5,000 mAh battery is still enough to provide exceptional battery life when paired with the right components. Additionally, Samsung doesn’t have much free space inside the phone for a larger battery, so we’re most definitely “stuck” with that 5,000mAh battery for now.

When it comes to recharging, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will most likely support 45W wired charging, similar to its predecessor. Although it’s not very fast, it usually allows the phone to fully charge in about an hour.

The Galaxy S24 Plus is rumored to see a slight but noticeable battery bump to 4,900mAh, pushing it dangerously close to the 5,000mAh battery inside the larger one. Galaxy S24 Ultra. At the same time, the Galaxy S23 Plus came with a 4,700 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S22 Plus before it had a 4,500 mAh battery, so we’re definitely seeing incremental year-on-year improvements here. All of this with the end goal of improving battery life, which is great.

In terms of charging, we should see the Galaxy S24 Plus correspond to Galaxy S24 Ultra and offers 45W charging. Slow compared to the best Chinese phones, but probably enough for everyday use.

Of course, in a perfect world, Samsung would also introduce 45W wired charging on the most compact Galaxy, but that’s unlikely to happen; rumor is not receptive to this idea either.
