Google Maps will now give you more information about restaurant dishes found in the app،

Google Maps does much more than get you from point “A” to point “B” quickly and safely. The app will tell you where to find a place to stay overnight, attend entertainment, visit monuments and eat once you arrive at “B”. To help users decide where to dine while they're away, Google Maps is integrated with Google Reviews. Directly in the Google Maps app you will find restaurant reviews from Google Review members as well as photos and videos.

To help Google Maps users on Android identify a particular meal that is the subject of a posted photo, if you tap the photo of a particular restaurant and then tap the Photos tab, you will see photos of some dishes from this particular restaurant. Thanks to a new feature, if you look through these photos, you may notice a card at the bottom of some images that not only names the dish pictured, but also gives a menu description of it.
Some cards will also include other information, such as whether a meal is popular or vegetarian. Regarding this last label, if you are strictly vegetarian, be careful. As Google notes, “Meal information is collected from Google users and businesses. Google analyzes aggregated data, but does not check all attributes (emphasis added).”
Google Maps users will be able to suggest that Google change information, correct incorrect information, or remove a dish name if it is offensive. Not all images contain this information and depending on 9to5GoogleInformation about photographed meals comes not only from images submitted by restaurant customers, but also from object recognition.
The feature was spotted on version 11.112.0102 of the Google Maps app for Android. You can check which version of the app is on your Android phone by going to Settings > apps > See all xxx apps. Scroll down and tap Maps. Scroll to the bottom of the next page to see the version number of the Google Maps app on your phone. My Pixel 6 Pro, running the latest Android 14 QPR2 beta, has Google Maps version 11.109.0101.

Although this feature is available on the Android version of Google Maps, it is unclear whether iOS users will get it as well.
