Samsung pulls the curtain on Galaxy Tab Active5 rugged tablet’s price in the US،
Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled its new rugged tablet, the Galaxy Tab Active5, alongside the rugged Galaxy XCover7 smartphone. The timing raised eyebrows, especially since just a week later, the Korean tech giant took the stage to introduce its flagship Galaxy S24 series, stealing the show in the tech world. Initially, Samsung kept pricing and availability details of its rugged tablet under wraps, especially for markets outside Europe. However, the latest update brings clarity as the company confirms that the Galaxy Tab Active5 is expected to hit the US market in Q1 2024, so expect the rugged tablet's US debut by the end March 2024 (via SamMobile).
The entry-level variant, equipped with LTE connectivity, will be available at a price of $548.99. Opting for the 5G variant of the tablet comes with a higher price tag. The tablet will also be available in an Enterprise edition, simplifying setup and management for businesses. It will be available via the Samsung Professional Website.
The Galaxy Tab Active5 benefits from a rugged design with an IP68 rating, ensuring dust and water resistance. Compliant with MIL-STD-810G standards for impact resistance, Samsung emphasizes its durability by claiming its resilience to drops from a height of 8 feet onto concrete surfaces.
Although the Galaxy Tab Active 5 prides itself on its rugged design, it also has pretty decent specs. The tablet sports an 8-inch WUXGA display with a 120Hz refresh rate, reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for improved durability and scratch resistance. The screen offers adjustable touch sensitivity, catering to users wearing gloves for added convenience. To top it all off, the tablet is equipped with an S Pen, perfect for drawing or writing.
The new rugged tablet is powered by the Exynos 1380 processor, the same one found in the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. The Galaxy Tab Active5 comes with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a microSD card slot for expanded memory. It runs Android 14 out of the box, with Samsung committing to 4 OS upgrades.
