After a short spell at the Canterbury-Bankstown club, he made a mid-season switch in 2023 to return to play under Brad Arthur.

Davey’s retirement comes after a series of nasty concussions suffered throughout last season, ending his contract a year early.

Davey suffered his most recent concussion in the 24th round and was helped to the field after taking a knee to the head. He then did not feature in Parramatta’s final two matches of the season.

“For a fighter from Central Queensland who wasn’t expected to play a single NRL game, this career is something to be proud of,” Davey said in a club statement.
