iPhone 16 Pro models to get 2TB storage option،

The freshly brewed Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has arrived with a maximum onboard storage of 1TB. However, rumors are circulating that the iPhone 16 Pro could get double the storage at 2TB. This could be due to new storage technology flash which offers the same storage in a relatively smaller space but with slower read and write speeds.

The information comes from tipstereyes1122 from the Korean blog Naver. According to the same, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max could upgrade to 2TB of built-in storage, double what the iPhone 14 Pro and 15 Pro currently offer. Even though we've been hearing rumors of a 2TB variant for a few years, the iPhone 16 Pro could probably get it after all.

The apparent increase in the high-end storage variant is likely due to the Quad-Level Cell (QLC) NAND flash drive which allows for more storage without taking up the same space as the current Triple-Level Cell (TLC) NAND flash drive. However, there is a catch. QLC is slower in terms of read and write speeds than TLC while being comparatively cheaper.

Upgrading to a 1TB iPhone 15 Pro increases the price to $1,499, which is $500 more than what the base iPhone 15 Pro (256GB) brings in. The question is, what will the price of the 2TB variant be once it becomes available later this year? For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (1TB) costs $360 more than the 256GB variant. However, with double the storage, a faster processor, an improved telephoto lens and a few bits here and there, we expect more in terms of price.

The iPhone 16 models will bring a “capture button” optionally allowing you to zoom in and out, especially when shooting horizontal video.
