Norrie, only Brit remaining, into Australian Open 4th round،

Britain's Cameron Norrie scored the biggest major victory of his career on Saturday, reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open for the first time with an impressive 6-4, 6-7 (7-9), 6- 4, 6-3 against the Norwegian. Casper Ruud.

“Honestly, it’s so special,” Norrie said. “I had to play very bravely and almost won that second set, but I didn't let it bother me and it was a good mental performance.”

Norrie, the only British player remaining in either singles draw, won the first set with a superb serve. Ruud won the second set with a tiebreak, but Norrie came back from a break to 3-2 in the next set.

A commanding final set from Norrie gave him a memorable victory over Ruud, who he had yet to beat in his previous three attempts.

“I stuck to my game plan and was successful,” added Norrie. “I worked hard in the offseason to be a little more aggressive and I succeeded.”

Norrie will play in the fourth round on Monday against either Alexander Zverev or Alex Michelsen.
