Not getting previews with your iOS Gmail notifications? Use this fix now to bring them back،
Over the past few days, I noticed that instead of receiving notifications with previews from Gmail on my iPhone, I was seeing a banner with the Gmail icon saying “You have a new message.” This forced me to open the Gmail app every time this notification appeared on my screen in order to see who sent me the Gmail. I have no idea what caused this and after some research it appears to be a more widespread problem than I initially thought.

iOS 17.2.1. Two days ago, this happened to an
iPhone 13 Pro owner while three days ago, an iPhone 14 Pro owner suffered the loss of Gmail previews on their computer.

iOS 17.2.1 last month when it was first released, so I know an iOS update wasn't to blame for losing Gmail previews on my iPhone.
If this has happened to you, fear not. There is a workaround that fixed my iPhone 15 Pro Max and I'm getting Gmail preview notifications again. Here's what you do. Open the Gmail
app and tap the three-line hamburger icon on the left side of the search bar at the top of the screen. Scroll up and tap Settings. Tap Email Notifications and it will bring up a dialog box with three options: All New Messages, High Priority Only, and None. Tap None, then tap Done in the upper right corner of the screen. Turn off your iPhone.
To recover your Gmail notification previews, turn off Gmail notifications, turn off your iPhone, turn on your iPhone, and turn on Gmail notifications.
After a minute or two, turn your iPhone back on and follow the instructions above to return to email notifications in Gmail. This time, select All new messages or High priority only. Tap the Done button in the upper right corner, and that's it. You will receive Gmail notifications with previews again. And to reiterate, this morning I received the notifications without the previews. After trying the fix, previews returned to my Gmail notifications.
