Apple’s Newsroom Post Hints At Imminent iOS 17.3 Launch: Here’s Everything We Know،

After releasing the public candidate iOS 17.2.1, Apple is now preparing to launch iOS 17.3. The software is already in beta. Most recently, Apple hinted at the launch of the update, which could happen within a few days.

iOS 17.3 release schedule

According to a footnote mentioned in an Apple Newsroom article, the “new Unity Bloom wallpaper for iPhone and iPad for the lock screen will also be available next week and requires an iPhone Xs or later running iOS 17.3. This indicates that the next version of iOS should be available the week of January 22. At the time of writing, the iOS 17.3 beta 2 update is available for download and installation. However, the release candidate is not yet available.

iOS 17.3 New Features

Regarding features, iOS 17.3 will include the Stolen Device Protection feature, which adds several layers of security to iOS. This feature makes it difficult for bad actors to manipulate an iPhone's security settings. Once a user enables the feature, the phone will require biometric authentication to change iCloud password, turn off Lost Mode, or erase an iPhone. Additionally, this feature prevents thieves from blocking users' access to their devices.

Another feature that will arrive is collaborative playlists on Apple Music. Although the feature was supposed to come with iOS 17.2, it did not. Nevertheless, it is part of iOS 17.3 beta 2 and will arrive soon. Collaborative playlists let your friends add or remove songs from a playlist on Apple Music. The Now Playing interface also allows users to respond to songs using emojis. While these are the two main features coming with iOS 17.3, the update will also contain general bug fixes and performance improvements.
