Warriors game vs. Mavs postponed after Dejan Milojević’s death،

The NBA postponed a second Golden State Warriors game following the death of assistant coach Dejan Milojević, announcing that Friday's game against the Dallas Mavericks would be played at a later date.

Milojević, 46, died Wednesday in Salt Lake City after being hospitalized the night before following a heart attack.

The Warriors' game scheduled for Wednesday against the Utah Jazz was also postponed before the announcement of Milojević's death.

Milojević's death sparked a massive and immediate outpouring of sympathy from the basketball community, and minutes of silence were observed before NBA games on Wednesday. Mavericks star Luka Doncic was among those who paid tribute to Milojević, writing “Rest in peace, Deki” in a social media post.

“You changed my life in such a short time,” Warriors rookie Brandin Podziemski wrote on social networks. “The most important thing you ever said to me was to just smile! We will forever miss your joy and laughter. Shine down on us from heaven.”

Milojević was in his third season with the Warriors and was part of the team's 2022 NBA championship run. He was a three-time Adriatic League MVP before coaching in Serbia, including working with young Nikola Jokic, and in Montenegro and doing summer league internships with several NBA teams. The Warriors hired Milojević in 2021.

No date has been announced to make up either postponed match.
