LG Electronics To Join The Extended Reality Race Next Year: Report،

With Vision Pro's entry into the extended reality segment, several other players, such as Sony, Samsung and Google, are also planning to launch their products. However, the latest addition to the list appears to be LG Electronics. The company's CEO recently confirmed that it could launch an XR-enabled product as early as next year.

LG Electronic's XR headset could arrive next year

As mentioned in a report published by The Guru, LG Electronics plans to launch a commercially available XR device as early as next year. “It’s about seriously joining the XR market, after Apple and Samsung electronics.” The report mentions that Apple's entry into the extended reality segment has attracted many players, including LG.

Samsung and Google are already working on their XR products

This year, the iPhone maker plans to ship around 400,000 units of its Vision Pro headset. On the other hand, Samsung Electronics collaborated with Google and Qualcomm to develop its XR devices. The latter recently launched the 2nd generation Snapdragon XR2+ processor for XR devices, suggesting that the company could launch a device soon.

As one of the world's largest display makers, LG already has experience creating some of the brightest OLED and webOS TVs that offer a usable interface. Therefore, the company's push into XR, which could result in new hardware, could help the company and others compete with Apple's Vision Pro.

LG Electronics decided to enter the XR space at a crucial time since the market is poised to grow from $41 billion to $859 billion over the next six years (according to Presence Research). However, it remains to be seen whether it will develop a product of the group or focus on making excellent displays for other brands.
