Apple May Have Scapped This Vision Pro Feature Ahead Of February Launch،

Apple Vision Pro is set to hit stores on February 2, 2024. Ahead of the launch, pre-orders for the product will begin on January 19. While we already know quite a few details, like how the company plans to demo the device in stores and how much RAM it will ship with, a new development related to the mixed reality headset has surfaced online. Apple removed a feature from the final product.

Apple removed the Open Sky Environment feature from its website and intro video

According to tipster M1Astra, Apple recently edited part of the Vision Pro intro video on its official YouTube channel and website. In the updated version, the company does not mention the Open Sky Environment feature presented by Apple at WWDC 2023 during the product announcement. For those catching up, this feature would allow users to replace their room's ceiling with a virtual sky.

According to a report from 9To5Mac, the section of Apple's website describing how the feature works, stating that it “magically replaces your ceiling with a clear, open sky”, has been changed to “turn your room into a personal cinema room with Cinema”. Environment.” Additionally, the updated video clip does not contain the part featuring the virtual sky, indicating that the company has decided to remove this feature.

Why did Apple abandon the open-air environment feature?

It's unclear why Apple decided to remove this feature before final launch. Replacing a particular part of the vision with a realistic view of the sky could take up a lot of hardware resources, including CPU and battery. This could be one of the potential reasons. On the other hand, it's possible that the feature never worked as expected or with the perfection Apple wanted. So the company removed it from the final product.

However, this does not mean that Open Sky Environment will not be able to access the headset with a future update. However, Apple has not commented on the removal of this feature or given a reason. For now, interested customers in the United States are waiting for pre-orders to open on the aforementioned date.
