Display production for the new OLED iPad Pros might be underway،

Not long ago, we shared with you the possibility that Apple would unveil two new iPad Air models and two new OLED iPad Pro models in March of this year. Well guess what? Recent buzz confirms these rumors.

Korean news source ELEC revealed that production of the OLED iPad is starting. Apparently, LG is already preparing displays for the 13-inch iPad Pro, and OLED panels for the 11-inch model are about to hit the production line. Samsung is rumored to be preparing to launch its own production of OLED panels for iPad later this week.

Apple is entering the OLED iPad scene this year, offering two sizes: 13 inches and 11 inches. LG Display handles production of both sizes, while Samsung Display focuses on the 11-inch model. Reportedly, Samsung Display has also been working on developing a 13-inch model, but is currently only producing the 11-inch model.

Additionally, Apple's initial OLED iPad shipment estimate for this year is 8 million units, which is below the 10 million units expected by the industry. However, as this is the first time OLED displays are debuting in the iPad lineup, production is expected to ramp up after an initial testing phase. The expected ship date for finished Apple iPad OLED products is in April.

Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays offer superior contrast ratios, and because they don't need a separate backlight layer, they contribute to much thinner displays. OLED technology is already used in the iPhone, using a single-battery configuration. However, for the larger iPad Pro displays, Apple opted for a dual-battery OLED, improving brightness and durability, but at a higher cost.

Unfortunately, there are no additional details regarding the configuration of the new iPad Pro models. Previous reports suggest that they will be powered by the new M3 processor, with expectations of a significantly higher cost compared to current models. Additionally, Apple could introduce improved Magic Keyboard and Pencil accessories alongside its next-generation iPads.
