Jio And Airtel Could Launch Separate 5G Plans, Could Hike Prices By Second Half،

Jio and Airtel may release increased recharge plans by the end of this year. As always, companies want to increase the average revenue per user to increase their revenue. Here's what the latest report suggests.

Jio and Airtel could launch new 5G plans by the end of this year

According to a report by The Economic Times, Jio and Airtel are planning to offer separate plans with 5G data instead of bundling high-speed data into regular recharge plans. New plans that could be launched soon could be priced higher than standard 4G plans. According to the report, dedicated 5G plans could cost around 5-10% more than the regular plans customers are used to.

Plans will be priced higher

Although the 5G rollout is not complete in India, Jio and Airtel plan to introduce 5G plans by the second half of 2024. Like previous times, the focus this time remains on increasing revenue average per user, also known as ARPU, thanks to the new, more expensive plans. It is important to note that both telecom service providers have recently increased the prices of their regular plans.

They should also increase a capped allocation of 5G data

However, the most expensive plans would offer 30% more data than regular 4G plans. Usually, 4G plans offer between 1.5GB and 3GB of data per day, which means 5G plans will provide more data. However, it also indicates that neither company will provide unlimited 5G data by the end of this year.

We think 5G plans could offer between 3GB and 10GB of data per day. Depending on the daily allowance, the price of the packages may vary. Either way, higher data speed will lead to more data consumption. Both companies have been providing 5G data at no extra cost for about a year. Therefore, they already have a good idea of user patterns. With this, 4G plans could also see a price hike by the end of this year.
