Antony’s Man United form hit by off-field issues – Ten Hag،

Manchester United winger Antony is struggling to return to his best form due to the ongoing impact of off-field problems, according to manager Erik ten Hag.

Antony spent three weeks away from the club in September amid allegations of violence against women.

Police investigations in Brazil and the United Kingdom continue and Ten Hag said the Brazil international, who has not registered a goal or assist this season, was affected by the situation.

“I can explain and I think it's very simple, his off-field problems are preventing him from playing,” Ten Hag said at a press conference on Friday.

“His first year went well, the pre-season was very good. The first four games were very good, but from the moment he went out and then he came back, he didn't deliver. performance you expect from him and he can do so many things better.

“It's had an effect, an impact on him, that's for sure. He's got to deal with it, he's got to sort it out but he's got to do better.”

Ten Hag, meanwhile, offered 'chance' to Jadon Sancho following the completion of his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, but did not say whether the 23-year-old had a future at Old Trafford.

Sancho was exiled from the team for four months following a public row with Ten Hag, with United confirming on Thursday he had joined his former club until the end of the season.

“I hope he's okay, so I wish him luck. That's all. I hope he's okay and successful.”

When asked if Sancho could play for United again, Ten Hag added: “I said, I think it's enough,” Ten Hag said.

Ten Hag have been strengthened ahead of Tottenham's visit to Old Trafford on Sunday after a number of injured players returned to training.

Lisandro Martínez and Casemiro could both return but Harry Maguire, Mason Mount and Victor Lindelöf remain sidelined.

“Martinez is training, Casemiro is training, Luke Shaw is training,” Ten Hag said.

“There are players who are returning and they will be selected for Sunday. [Christian] Eriksen will come back, Antony will come back, Amad will come back. We have more choice at the moment in the team to offer a starting XI and create a stronger bench.
