CES 2024 Features a Bizarre Unofficial Super Mario Hologram

CES 2024 ends today, but before it ends after a week of expeditions, you need to watch this clip from an unusual person Super Mario hologram. It’s certainly one that will stick in the minds of attendees at this year’s event for some time to come.

An unfinished proof

As noted by Twitter user @ProbChild_, CES featured an unofficial hologram of Super Mario that was apparently intended to be a form of AI assistance. However, when the user interacts with it, what comes out of the iconic plumber's mouth is quite bizarre.

For one thing, it doesn't look like the official mascot. He looks like him, but he doesn't have that Charles Martinet voice that many have come to recognize over the decades. This causes @ProbChild_ to look directly at the camera, confused as to what he is witnessing.

In another video from the same user, they ask hologram Mario for advice on buying a game. The response is equally baffling, with the Twitter post claiming that “nothing about this makes sense” . It's truly something to see.

It must be said that this is not an official Nintendo exhibition. Instead, it's an AI hologram animation from a company called Proto Inc.

It is described as an unfinished proof of concept that was “tested for a client to demonstrate technological capabilities and innovation.” It appears it was not intended for public release.

Still, as strange as it may sound, it's quite amusing to hear Super Mario » in this much deeper voice which affects an unusual interpretation of an Italian accent. There is no doubt that many will now view Chris Pratt's interpretation more favorably.
