AT&T customers will feel very unloved on Valentine’s Day،

One of the wonders of modern technology is that people suddenly dread doing things that were an integral part of daily life just a few years ago. Apparently, many people hate talking on the phone today and even large companies like AT&T are not immune to this phobia. The operator really wants people to stop calling them to make payments and has found a way to dissuade you from calling them.

By The mobile reportAT&T is sending messages to its prepaid customers informing them that starting February 14, if they make payments over the phone, they will be charged a $5 convenience fee.

Fees will be applicable if you speak to a customer service representative or use the automated telephone system to make a payment. AT&T already charges postpaid customers the same fee for speaking to representatives to make a payment.

AT&T seems to have forgotten that many of us, especially older adults, didn't grow up with smartphones and the Internet, and are uncomfortable with other payment methods or aren't all that simply not sufficiently informed.

Additionally, sometimes things go wrong, requiring a phone call, so the payment doesn't seem justified and more like a penalty. It's also difficult to understand why the company would want you to pay a fee when you interact with an automated system.

Keep in mind that you can still call the company for other things, they just don't want you calling them to handle your payments.

If you don't want to be charged $5 more when making payments, you should consider making payments online, visiting an AT&T store, turning on autopay, or mailing your payment.
