Gamers and others will love this upgrade to the Galaxy S24 series displays،

Based on previously published leaks on the Galaxy S24 flagship series, which is expected to be revealed a week from today, the Galaxy S24 And Galaxy S24+ will have a refresh rate of 120Hz and the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a refresh rate of 144Hz. The latest leaks also indicate that all three new flagship phones will feature low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) displays. This allows displays to have a minimum refresh rate of 1Hz. When screen content is static, for example when displaying emails or messages, the refresh rate will drop to 1Hz in order to save battery.

On the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+, the minimum refresh rate is 24Hz, which makes these two models consume more battery power even with static content displayed on the screen. Of last year's flagship lineup, only the Galaxy S23 Ultra had the LTPO display allowing the screen to go down to 1Hz when certain static content was displayed. With all three Galaxy S24 series models equipped with LTPO this year, the batteries powering the Galaxy S24 (4,000 mAh) and S24+ (4,900 mAh) should hold up better than the cells used on last year's models.

Today, Ice Universe leak, who rightly told us in August that all three Galaxy S24 models would feature an LTPO display, sent out a tweet with some other new information about the flagship series. The leaker wrote that “the touch response speed of the screen of Galaxy S24 series also increased by more than 10%, which can mean smoother and faster response.” Here, Ice Man refers to the touch sampling rate which is different from the refresh rate.

The touch sampling rate is the number of times per second that the display checks for touch input from a finger, stylus, or other source. THE Galaxy S23 The series' touch sampling rate is 240 Hz, which means these displays search for touch input 240 times per second. Increasing the touch sampling rate for Galaxy S24 series will improve gameplay on the series and make the display more responsive to user touches.

THE Galaxy S24 range is set to premiere on January 17 at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST. Pre-orders are expected to be taken by Samsung the same day.
