Intel Drops The 14th-Generation Desktop And Mobile Processors At The CES 2024

After launching Intel Core Ultra processors last month, the chipmaker has discontinued the 14th generation of desktop processors. The family is led by the Core i9-14900HX, one of the most powerful desktop processors on the market. Furthermore, Intel also launched the HX series of mobile processors and the Core Series 1 family. Intel's 14th generation desktop processors are here

“The next generation of processors continues to use Intel's hybrid performance architecture to power your gaming, content creation, and productivity,” according to the official press release. There are three new models with two iterations each.

First, there is the i9K core and the i9KF core with a maximum turbo frequency of up to 6.0 GHz, up to 24 cores (including eight performance and 16 efficient cores) and 32 CPU threads. While the Core i9K comes with Intel's UHD Graphics 770, the i9KF does not include the GPU.

Then there are the Core i7K And i7KF core processors, coming with a maximum turbo frequency of up to 5.6 GHz, up to 20 cores (including eight performance and 12 efficient cores) and 28 processing threads. Similar to the Core i9 series, the i7K comes with Intel UHD GPU powered by Xe architecture, unlike the i7K variant.

However, the Intel UHD 770 graphics card on the Core i7K processor has a lower graphics dynamic frequency (1600 MHz) than that of the Core i9K processor (1650 MHz).

Last but not least, desktop processors include the Intel Core i5K and the i5KF core processors come with a maximum turbo frequency of up to 5.3 GHz, 14 processor cores (including six performance cores and eight efficient cores), and 20 processing threads. The Core i5K has an even less powerful Intel UHD Graphics 770 processor with a graphics dynamic frequency of 1550 MHz.

Features common across the line include two memory channels, support for up to 16 PCle 5.0 lanes, four PCle 4.0 lanes, Quick Sync Video, and Intel's Deep Learning Boost.

New Intel Core HX-Series processors

Alongside desktop processors, Intel also launched the new 14th generation mobile processor for laptops and lightweight PCs. THE Core i9 14900HX leads the series with a maximum turbo frequency of up to 5.8 GHz, 24 processing cores (eight performance cores and 16 efficiency cores), and 32 processing threads.

The Core i7 processor comes in two variants: 14700HX And 14650HX. While the former ships have a maximum turbo frequency of up to 5.5 GHz and 28 processor threads, the latter have a maximum turbo frequency of up to 5.2 GHz and 24 processing threads. As for cores, the more powerful 14700HX version has 20 processing cores (with eight performance cores and 12 efficient cores), while the 14650HX has 16 processing cores (with eight performance cores and eight efficient cores). ).

The Core i5 series is also available in two versions: 14500HX And 14450HX. The first ships have 14 processing cores, 14 processing threads and a maximum turbo frequency of up to 4.9 GHz. The latter includes ten processing cores, ten threads and a maximum turbo frequency of up to 4.8 GHz.

All models feature Intel UHD graphics and 192GB of memory capacity.

Intel Core U-series processors

As part of the Core U series, Intel has launched three new processors. THE Core 7 150U has a maximum turbo frequency of up to 5.4 GHz, 10 CPU cores and 12 processing threads. THE Core 5 120U has a maximum frequency of up to 5.0 GHz, 10 processing cores and 12 processing threads. Additionally, the Intel Core 3 100U has a maximum frequency of up to 4.7 GHz, six processing cores and eight processing threads.
