TCL unveils several 50 Series smartphones, two new NXTPAPER tablets،

Like every year, TCL presents its new range of phones and tablets at CES. This time, we'll be talking about two new tablets and no less than five new 50 Series smartphones.

One of the biggest devices announced this week appears to be the NXTPAPER 14 Pro tablet, which brings the advanced capabilities of TCL NXTPAPER 3.0 technology to the masses.

TCL's NXTPAPER technology filters harmful blue light by up to 60% while maintaining sharp images, deep contrast and natural motion. The latest version of the technology brings all these benefits and introduces a range of features optimized for the senses of sight and touch.

NXTPAPER 3.0 launches the CPL (Circulary Polarized Light) screen, which simulates the “emission – reflection – refraction” path of natural light. Basically, this should produce a visual effect that closely resembles the experience of reading books in natural light, thereby enhancing the paper-like appearance of the screen and providing additional eye comfort.

Speaking of which, the NXTPAPER 14 Pro has a stunning 14-inch 2.8K display. The tablet is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor, coupled with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Additionally, the tablet packs a massive 12,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

Alongside the new NXTPAPER 14 Pro, TCL has unveiled another advanced tablet, the TCL TAB 10 NXTPAPER 5G. This comes with the same NXTPAPER 3.0 technology but adds 5G support. Additionally, the tablet is equipped with an unnamed octa-core processor and runs on the latest Android 14 operating system.

No details on price and release date have been disclosed yet, but we do know that both TCL tablets will be arriving in the US very soon.

Moving on to the new smartphones announced by TCL, the company introduced seven 50 series handsets, which span different price points and a handful of specification tiers.

Five models are specifically aimed at the US market: TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G, TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G, TCL 50 XL 5G, TCL 50 XE 5G and TCL 50 LE.

The TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G and TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G are the first NXTPAPER smartphones to launch in the United States. Both combine a TCL NXTPAPER display with dual speakers for a more immersive audiovisual experience.

The TCL 50 XL 5G sports a massive 6.8-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and packs 8GB of RAM. The phone is powered by a 5,010mAh battery and features NXTURBO for better overall performance.

On the other hand, the TCL 50 XE 5G comes with a slightly smaller 6.6-inch HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, and a similar 5,010mAh battery. Additionally, the phone has a 50-megapixel triple camera and dual speakers with DTS sound.

The cheapest of the five phones released in the United States, the TCL 50 LE is a compact but powerful addition to the company's fifth generation of smartphones. The handset comes with a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, dual speakers, and a 13-megapixel hybrid camera.

There's no word on the chipset inside, but TCL has confirmed that the phone only packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is a bit disappointing. Finally, the TCL 50 LE will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery and features the same TCL NXTURBO technology for smooth performance.

The other two phones announced this week that won't be coming to the US are the TCL 50 SE and TCL 50 5G. However, the five that will be available in the US will most likely cover all the spec needs (price as well).

We have yet to learn how much these new products cost and when they will be available, although we expect TCL to provide more details on this as we get closer to their launch dates.
