ASUS teases ROG Phone 8 Pro’s impressive Geekbench 6 Multi-Core score،

ASUS has released a teaser touting the multi-core score of its upcoming ROG Phone 8 Pro. The gaming phone, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, scored 7,422 points in the Geekbench 6 multi-core test, surpassing the scores generated by the iPhone 15 Pro Max's Geekbench tests. The latter is powered by the only 3nm application processor (AP) found in any smartphone from last year, the A17 Pro AP.
On my iPhone 15 Pro Maxthe highest Geekbench multi-core score was 7348. Quite tellingly, ASUS did not reveal the ROG Phone 8 Pro's single-core score on Geekbench, likely because the Snapdragon 8 generation 3 was never able to surpass the A17 Pro's single-core score. My iPhone 15 Pro MaxThe best single-core score on Geekbench was 2934.

THE Snapdragon 8 generation 3 uses an octa-core configuration, two cores more than the A17 Pro, giving Qualcomm's AP an edge when it comes to multithreaded tasks. Additionally, the ROG Phone 8 Pro, being a gaming phoneincludes a large vapor chamber that will help keep the chipset cool, allowing it to deliver exceptional performance for extended periods of time.

Wccftech recently discovered an A17 Pro Geekbench test result showing scores of 2969 and 7570 for single-core and multi-core respectively. However, he believes the test was only able to achieve such results by using an external cooler or by manipulating the results.

The ROG Phone 8 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, 1080 x 2448 resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Configurations include 12GB of RAM with 256 GB UFS 4.0 storage, 16 GB RAM with 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage and 24 GB RAM with 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage.

The rear camera array includes a 50 MP main camera, a 32 MP telephoto camera, and a 13 MP ultra-wide camera. The front camera weighs 32 MP and a 5,500 mAh battery keeps the lights on. ASUS is expected to unveil the phone today.
