Samsung HW-Q990D soundbar is now aimed at gamers and movie lovers
The HW-Q990D is a successor to the HW-990C which has been one of the best soundbars in India in terms of performance and value for money. The HW-990D features enhanced gaming capabilities like the new HDMI 2.1 interface allowing for smooth transition to 4K at 120Hz for next-generation console gaming. This scalable soundbar delivers impressive power 11.1.4 channel configurationsimilar to the HW-990C, offering immersive Dolby Atmos surround sound that puts you right in the heart of the action.
Samsung hasn't forgotten about smart features either. The Q990D integrates voice assistance and the SmartThings IoT hub, making it the brain of your connected home. Its proprietary technologies – Q-Symphony 3.0, Q-Symphony and Spacefit calibration programs are all integrated, as well as support for the Roon streaming service.
Samsung HW-990D pricing and availability
Although Samsung has not yet disclosed official pricing or release dates, industry experts predict that the HW-Q990D will follow the price of its predecessor. The HW-990C debuted in India for Rs 1,19,990. So we can expect the HW-Q990D to arrive in India in 2024 with a similar price tag.
HW-G60C: compact and elegant sound
Samsung also announced the HW-G60C, a perfect option for small rooms and cabinets. This stylish soundbar features built-in streaming capabilities and customizable LED lighting effects, adding a touch of ambiance to your living room. Samsung's ultra-thin soundbars, the HW-S800D and HW-S801D, are only a third the thickness of traditional models, making them ideal companions for wall-mounted TVs. Despite their slim profile, these models pack a punch with Dolby Atmos, Q-Symphony and SpaceFit Sound Pro wireless, delivering a 3.1.2 channel experience. For smaller spaces, the HW-S700D delivers impressive sound in a package just 1.5 inches thick and 35 inches long, perfect for TVs up to 55 inches.
Samsung also presents its innovative Music Frame
In a truly unique version, Samsung presents the Music Frame, a wireless speaker that fits perfectly into your decor as a photo frame. This versatile device works as a standalone speaker or pairs with compatible Samsung TVs and soundbars, providing a flexible audio solution. Two tweeters, two woofers and two mid-range drivers powered by Samsung Space Fit technology deliver enveloping sound that adapts to its surroundings. For an even more immersive experience, you can combine multiple Music Frames to create a surround sound setup.
Music Frame seems to be inspired by Samsung's Frame TVs which blend seamlessly into your wall as a work of art. The Music Frame hides a powerful Wi-Fi speaker with Dolby Atmos support.
The success of Music Frame is based on two key factors: sound quality And price level. Can it deliver true Dolby Atmos immersion, or will it prioritize form over function? And will its price fall into the “luxury item” category, like The Frame TVs, or will it offer real value to audiophiles looking for a unique design? Samsung has not yet revealed its price, so we will have to wait to get the answers to these two questions.
