X faces legal heat again: Allegedly employee was fired for being critical of Elon Musk’s plans،

X, formerly known as Twitter, once again finds itself embroiled in legal issues. In a recent development, a legal marketing company named X Social Media has filed a lawsuit against X, claiming that the social media platform’s new name infringes on its trademark, which features the letter “X “. This adds to the company’s legal challenges, with another lawsuit on the horizon.

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) filed a lawsuit against X, alleging that the company illegally terminated an employee. As reported CNBC (via Android titles), the official complaint claims that X fired the employee for criticizing his return to power policy after Elon Musk’s takeover last year.

According to the NLRB, X’s firing of Yao Yue, a senior software engineer, shortly after Musk took control of Twitter, violated the National Labor Relations Act. The NLRB claims that X fired Yue after she sought to recruit Twitter colleagues unhappy with Musk’s sudden changes to the company’s work requirements.

Musk’s alleged statement, “If you can physically get to an office and you do not show up, resignation accepted“, sparked concern and outrage among several employees, according to the NLRB. Yue responded with a tweet encouraging employees not to resign but to let the company fire them, stating: “You literally gain nothing from resignation.» She also shared a similar message on the company’s Slack channel.

Yue’s messages received responses from many colleagues, as noted in the charging document. Meanwhile, Musk asked his management team to monitor online posts and Slack communications.to identify who should be fired“, according to the document.

Yue was fired five days later, the reason given as a violation of an unspecified company policy, according to the legal document. “Ms. Yue alleges that Twitter singled her out for firing in retaliation for her attempt to organize her colleagues not to resign, so that they would have a better legal basis to challenge any separation from Twitter.», Indicates the document.

The NLRB throws shade at X, saying the company has been “interfere, restrict and coerce employees in the exercise of guaranteed rights” under national labor law.

To address what it calls unfair labor movements, the NLRB wants to make things right for Yao Yue. The goal is to cover any financial gains she suffered directly or could see coming, as well as other damages caused by what she calls X’s shady dealings. Mark your calendars for January 30 ; that’s when the case heads to a hearing in San Francisco.
