Pixel 8 series knows automatically when you put on or take off a screen protector،

Have you ever put a screen protector on a phone only to notice that your touch inputs weren't recorded like before? Or maybe you've had to use a harder touch since rolling out the new screen protector. According to Android FontIf you own a Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro, your device will automatically notify you when a screen protector has been added to your phone's touchscreen, reminding you to enable Screen Protector mode to improve sensitivity touch screen of your phone.
And if you decide to remove a screen protector from your phone, you will automatically receive a notification letting you know that this has happened. This notification will remind you to turn off Screen Protector mode. Let's break down the instructions.

When you put a screen protector on your Pixel 8 Or Pixel 8 Pro, you will be reminded to automatically activate Screen Protection mode. The notification will say “Enabling screen protector mode improves touch when using a screen protector.” Tapping on the notification gives you three options to choose from: one button takes you to settings, one lets you acknowledge the notification without turning it off, and the third lets you turn off the notification.

If you decide to enable Screen Protector mode, press the first button which takes you to settings. From there, tap Display and scroll down to Screen protector mode. Enable the feature which will “increase touch sensitivity and improve touch when using a screen protector.” It's child's play, right?

When you remove a screen protector from your Pixel 8 Or Pixel 8 Pro, you will receive a notification saying: “Turning off screen protector mode improves touch when a screen protector is not in use.” Tap the notification and you'll have the same three options you had when enabling the mode: go to settings, acknowledge the notification but don't dismiss it, and request that the notification be dismissed.

If you remove the screen protector and decide to turn off Screen Protector mode, tap the first button, and in Settings, tap Displayscroll to Screen protector mode, and disable the feature. Again, it couldn't be simpler.

Although currently available on the Pixel 8 series only, we wouldn't be surprised to see Google eventually add this feature to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 lines. Although the 2021 and 2022 Pixel models offer Screen Protection mode, they currently don't have an automatic notification reminder.
