Man United, Dortmund agree Sancho loan ‘in principle’ – source،

Manchester United have agreed a deal in principle to send Jadon Sancho on loan to former club Borussia Dortmund, a source has told ESPN, but there are still details to be finalized before he is allowed to join the team of the Bundesliga.

Sancho has indicated he wants to return to Dortmund, two-and-a-half years after his £73 million move to Old Trafford, having been exiled from United's first team by manager Erik ten Hag.

United have agreed to a six-month loan deal offered by Dortmund which will include a small fee and a contribution to the 23-year-old's wages.

However, the deal has not been officially signed and until it is, Sancho will not be allowed to travel to Dortmund's winter training camp in Spain.

Unless negotiations fail late, the English striker should get the green light this weekend.

Dortmund resume their Bundesliga campaign against Darmstadt on January 13.

Sancho has not played for United since August after publicly disputing the reasons given by Ten Hag for excluding him from the squad during the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal on September 3.

His statement on X, formerly Twitter, has since been deleted, but Sancho refused Ten Hag's request for a private and public apology. He trained alone with United coaches and was banned from the first-team canteen and changing rooms.

Dortmund are pushing to complete the deal quickly so they can assess Sancho's fitness levels after four months without meaningful football.

He has not started a competitive match for United since the FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City on June 3 and has spent just 76 minutes on the pitch this season.
