T-Mobile makes changes to its Netflix on Us freebie

The changes are expected to roll out on January 24 and will only affect customers who now get Netflix Basic for free, including those on the Magenta and Go5G plans. The good news is that customers currently receiving Netflix Standard On Us will continue to receive the same freebie.

The implications are huge for those who absolutely hate seeing ads. They will move from a completely ad-free Netflix experience to one that includes ads. The only positive benefit is that instead of watching content in 720p resolution, they will now be able to watch the same content in 1080p.

In addition to this, Netflix Standard with Ads allows subscribers to stream on 2 screens simultaneously, while Netflix Basis does not have this advantage. These changes may not be entirely T-Mobile's fault given that Netflix removed the Basic plan in the US and UK in July.
