Littler, 16, secures darts World Championship semifinal spot،

Luke Littler, 16, became the youngest player in history to reach the semi-finals of the World Darts Championship with a 5-1 victory over Brendan Dolan at Alexandra Palace on Monday.

Littler got off to a nervous start, losing the first two sets of the first set, but the teenager quickly found his rhythm to win that first set and had no trouble defeating Dolan, 50, of Northern Ireland.

“Wow. I'm in the semi-final on my debut,” Littler told Sky Sports.

“If I continue, I have a good chance. Now I'm dreaming! I have two matches left. I'm really thinking about winning the title.”

Littler had a remarkable start to the world championship, beating the likes of four-time champion Raymond van Barneveld on his improbable journey to the semi-final.

The English teenager will face 2018 winner Rob Cross, who made a remarkable comeback from 4-0 down to beat Chris Dobey 5-4 in the quarter-final earlier on Monday.

“4-0 and I didn't play. I didn't feel good. I just kept going,” Cross told Sky Sports.

“It's thanks to Chris from the start, he kicked me in the mouth. But it all depends on me. I always believed in it even when I was down 4-0. I have nerves of steel.

“If I play Luke Littler in the semi-final… Look, he's 16 and whatever he achieves, he's got a bright future. If he does well, he'll probably be the favourite.”
