Latest Spotify beta for Android causes untimely crashes during the holiday season

If your Spotify app is constantly crashing on Android lately, you're not alone. Spotify's latest beta update on Android causes the app to crash before it's even fully opened.

The problematic beta update was released in recent days, in the middle of the holiday season, when many people are carefully curating tracks and creating Spotify playlists.

The exact beta version is 8.9.2.169, and in theory you can get a working Spotify by simply removing the current broken version and then reinstalling a stable version from the Play Store. Remember that during the uninstallation process, the content you downloaded for offline use will also be deleted.

The latest beta issues for the app started on December 30 and there are numerous X/Twitter reports about the issue stating that the app is completely unusable and unable to open. “Unlike last time when a crashing issue also hit the app, things don't stay functional when connecting services like Android Auto. Spotify just doesn’t work anymore,” the 9to5Google article notes.
