OnePlus 12 To Ship With More RAM Than Most Flagships In The Segment،
The OnePlus 12 was released in China on December 5, 2023. However, the brand decided to launch the smartphone worldwide after a month and a half. OnePlus' latest flagship will arrive in the Indian market and other regions on January 23, 2024. Ahead of the official launch, we know almost everything about the smartphone, including its display, storage, processor, camera and its battery.
OnePlus 12 will come with more RAM on the base variant than OnePlus 11
However, ahead of the official launch, a tipster appears to have leaked the storage variants that will be launched in India. According to Ishan Agarwal, the OnePlus 12 will be available in India with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage on the base variant. The top variant, on the other hand, will feature 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In China, the brand also sells a version with 24 GB of RAM, but it is unlikely to come to India.

Moreover, a recent leak suggests that the price of the flagship could be around Rs. 9,999. 58,000 to Rs. 60,000 in India, which is more affordable than most flagships in the market except the iQoo 12. On the other hand, the OnePlus 12R could cost between Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 42,000, placing the phone in competition with the Nothing Phone (2).
How does the OnePlus 12's RAM compare to its competitors?
Vivo's iQoo recently launched the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered flagship in India – iQoo 12. Its base variant comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, costing Rs. 9,999. 52,999.
Google's latest flagship, the Pixel 8, comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage on the base variant, which seems slightly overpriced at Rs. 9,999.75,999. The Pixel 8 Pro, however, has 12 GB of RAM.
Samsung's vanilla Galaxy S23 also comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage on the lowest trim, costing Rs. 9,999. 74,999. Even the high-end Galaxy S23 Ultra has 8GB of RAM.
Why is more RAM important on the OnePlus 12?
Obviously, the OnePlus 12 is among the phones with the highest RAM on the base variant. When paired with a powerful processor, the extra memory helps users multitask by better handling heavier workflows.
This is also an upgrade over the OnePlus 11, whose base variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Along with the OnePlus 12, the company will launch the OnePlus 12R with 8GB RAM on the lowest version. Additionally, the most affordable model will also be available in another variant with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
