Oppo A59 5G With 90Hz Screen, Dimensity 6020 SoC, And 5,000 mAh Battery Launched In India،
Oppo has launched an entry-level smartphone in the Indian market called Oppo A59 5G. It follows the Oppo A58 5G, released last year. The handset features a 90Hz display, an octa-core processor, and a 5,000mAh battery. Here's everything you need to know about the smartphone's design, specifications, and price.
Design Oppo A59 5G
The smartphone is available in two colors: Silk Gold and Starry Black. While the former has a textured back panel, the latter has a matte finish on the back panel. On the front, users benefit from a punch-hole cutout in the center of the screen, which houses the front camera. The smartphone features symmetrical edges on three sides, while a thick chin is visible towards the bottom of the screen.

Out of the box, the Oppo A59 5G comes with a 6.56-inch LCD display supporting 90Hz refresh rate and 720 nits peak brightness. The handset also has a screen-to-body ratio of 89.8 percent. In diameter, the smartphone measures 8.12 mm and weighs 187 grams.
Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC, an octa-core chipset with two cores at 2.2 GHz and six cores at 2 GHz, and the Mali-G57 Mc2 GPU. The chipset is paired with 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage. The processor offers similar performance to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC.
On the rear panel, the Oppo A59 5G has two camera sensors: a 13MP (f/2.2) primary sensor and a 2MP (f/2.4) secondary depth sensor. On the front, users get an 8 MP (f/2.0) selfie shooter with a 77-degree field of view.
Apart from this, the smartphone has a large 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W SuperVOOC charging. The battery goes from zero to 52% in around 30 minutes thanks to the fast charging speed. In typical use, the battery should easily last a full day. Users also benefit from a superpower saving mode.
The Oppo A59 5G also comes with IP54 water and dust resistance, a notable feature as other phones in the segment don't have an official IP rating. This makes the phone slightly more durable than others.
Oppo A59 5G price and availability
The base variant of the phone, with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, is available for Rs. 9,999. 14,999, while the top variant, with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, is available for Rs. 14,999. 16,999. That said, the device is expected to be available on Amazon, Flipkart, the official store of Oppo and other major retail stores from December 25, 2023.
