OnePlus Ace3 to debut on Jan 4 with a distinct gold color and metallic frame

OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R are expected to launch globally on January 23, 2024, two months after their launch in China. It turns out that the Chinese variant of the OnePlus 12R, named OnePlus Ace3, is expected to launch in China on January 4, 2024, giving a glimpse of what the 12R/Ace3 will bring.

Tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) took to Weibo (a Chinese social networking site) to post a tentative date for the launch of the OnePlus Ace3, i.e. January 4, 2024. For reference, this is almost three weeks before the OnePlus 12 and 12R global launch.

We've already heard a lot about the OnePlus Ace3 or 12R but there's more. DCS describes the Chinese variant as featuring a distinct gold color with a glass finish and metallic luster textured frame. The folks at Sparrow News compared the “expected” color with a high-end Rolls Royce which could give an idea of ​​what DCS is referring to. It remains to be seen whether this same color will be available during the global launch or not.

The OnePlus Ace3 or OnePlus 12R works as a sub-flagship phone which would be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen2. It houses UFS 4.0 storage flanked by LPDDR5x RAM.

The phone houses a 6.78-inch BOE X1 1.5K oriental curved display with a punch-hole in the center. It borrows some of the specifications from the OnePlus 12, including the aforementioned display paired with 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

On the optical front, we have a 16 MP selfie plus a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50 MP primary, an 8 MP ultra-wide, and a 2 MP macro shooter. We've heard about a 32MP 2x telephoto lens on the device, but we'll have to wait to see what's final. Finally, the device sports a 5,500mAh battery paired with 100W wired and wireless charging, of course.
