Xiaomi bids farewell to MIUI with a 3-minute video that shows the evolution of the mobile OS،
We are a few days away from 2024 and for Xiaomi and Chinese phone connoisseurs, that means one thing and one thing only: “Goodbye, MIUI, hello HyperOS!”
Xiaomi announced the discontinuation of the MIUI operating system as early as October 2023 and announced that it would replace it with HyperOS, adding that its latest Xiaomi 14 flagships would come pre-installed with HyperOS.
Now, Xiaomi has compiled a 3-minute video titled “A Journey Through Time – The Evolution of MIUI,” which is pretty self-explanatory and delivers on its promises (via Android titles).
The brief video walkthrough covers each version of MIUI (and its defining features), starting with the first one which debuted in 2010. Notable changes and features of the various versions of MIUI are not only mentioned, they are displayed via animations and screenshots. quite nostalgic, if you are a die-hard MIUI fan.
Which phones will benefit first from the new HyperOS?
Xiaomi announced on Twitter that a total of eight devices will get the HyperOS upgrade in the first three months of 2024.
Here is the list (the last one is a tablet):
- Xiaomi 13 Ultra
- Xiaomi 13 Pro
- Xiaomi 13
- Xiaomi 13T Pro
- Xiaomi 13T
- Redmi Note 12
- Redmi Note 12S
- Xiaomi Pad 6
In addition to the eight Xiaomi and Redmi-branded devices listed above, there is another phone expected to receive the HyperOS update in Q1 2024, the Poco F5.
The update is expected to roll out gradually in waves, so some of the people listed above will get it sooner than others.
