Upcoming Smartphones Launching in January 2024،
The first month of the new year will begin in 11 days. After a dull season for Indian tech enthusiasts following the launch of Apple's iPhone in September, January will be an exciting month with various tech giants gearing up to start 2024 on a high note. From Xiaomi to Samsung, from OnePlus to Asus, from Vivo to iqoo, every brand has something special planned for January 2024.
Here are all the major smartphone launches happening in India in January 2024.
1. Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Series
Launch date – January 4, 2024
The first launch for 2024 will be Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 series. The series has already been launched in China and will now come to India. It includes 3 devices- Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro And Redmi Note 13 Pro+.
Xiaomi continues to tease various details of its premium Pro Plus variant from time to time. The brand has confirmed that it will be powered by the Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset and will be available in 3 colors: Fusion Black, Fusion White and Fusion Purple. The IP68 rating has also been confirmed for the device.
Since its launch in China, we know that the Redmi Note 13 series has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The chipset of the 3 smartphones is different with the vanilla model having the Dimensity 6080 chipset , the Pro model featuring a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC and the Pro Plus powered by Dimensity 7200 Ultra. The Redmi Note 13 features a dual camera setup, while Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ sport a triple camera setup. All 3 devices will run MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The middle member packs a 5,100mAh battery while the other two have a 5,000mAh core.
2. Samsung Galaxy S24 series
Launch date – January 17, 2024
Samsung will reportedly hold a Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17 during which the brand will launch the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S24 PlusAnd Samsung Galaxy S24. The expected specifications of the three models are given below.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the highest model in the series. It is said to have a 6.8-inch QHD+ OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is expected to be powered by a Samsung-customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and feature 12GB of RAM with up to 1TB of storage . Under the hood, the Ultra model could pack a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging. The strongest point should be the camera setup on the back (200MP+10MP+50MP+10MP).
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus is the often overlooked middle member of the family. It is expected to be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The battery could be 4900 mAh, slightly larger than its predecessor with 45W charging. On the front there is a 6.7-inch QHD+OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 5G base smartphone is said to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It could have a smaller 4,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging and a triple camera setup on the back including a 50MP primary sensor. This will be the most affordable device in the series featuring a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display.
3.OnePlus12
Launch date- 23rd January 2024
OnePlus has just confirmed the India launch of the OnePlus 12 5G at a grand event taking place at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The event is called “Smooth Beyond Belief” and will be followed live by a large audience.
OnePlus 12 was announced recently in China, so we have an idea of what the specs will be. OnePlus 12 comes with a large 6.82-inch QHD+ 2K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is claimed to be the brightest and best in the industry with 4,500 nits brightness, Dolby Vision, ProXDR, 10-bit color depth and 2160 PWM dimming.
The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. In terms of camera optics, there are 50MP+64MP+48MP lenses on the back. A better vapor chamber cooling system has also been introduced on the device which runs Android 14 operating system. Under the hood is a large 5,400 mAh battery with 100W wired charging capacity and without 50W wire. OnePlus has kept the design similar to the OnePlus 11 but introduced new color options for freshness. OnePlus 12 is available in Pale Green, Rock Black, and White shades.
4.OnePlus 12R
Launch date- 23rd January 2024
OnePlus 12R will accompany the OnePlus 12 5G at the launch event next month. Successor to the OnePlus 11R, this is a slightly more affordable device from OnePlus. This time, the OnePlus 12R is expected to launch with some improvements. Reportedly, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and will have a different design. It could have a curved OLED display with 1.5K resolution. An upgraded camera setup could include 50MP+8MP+32MP lenses and under the hood could be a large 5,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging. OnePlus 12R could be the new name for the OnePlus Ace 3 launched in China .
5. Vivo X100 Series
Launch date – Mid-January 2024
Vivo has started teasing the launch of the Vivo X100 series in India. The Vivo X100 series will include VivoX100 And VivoX100 Pro smartphones. Known for its photography prowess, the Vivo Vivo V3 for gaming. The partnership with Zeiss will mean a 1-inch 50MP primary camera on the back. The pro version is expected to have a 5,000mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
6. Asus ROG 8 series
Launch date – January 9, 2024 (global launch)
Asus recently confirmed that the ROG 8 series will launch globally on the 9thth January 2024 at the Consumer Electronics Show. The series will have Asus ROG8 And Asus ROG 8 Pro smartphones. Both devices are confirmed to feature a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel and 5,500mAh batteries. The Asus ROG Phone 8 Series has also been confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The smartphones have a square design with minimal bezels and a punch-hole display that resembles the ROG 7 series. The Pro variant is said to have a 50MP+13MP+32MP camera setup at the back. On the front will be a 32MP lens for video calls and selfies.
7. iQOO 9 Neo 9 Pro
Launch date – January 2024
iQOO has confirmed that the iQOO Neo 9 series will launch in China on December 27. It will include the iQOO Neo 9 and iQOO Neo 9 Pro smartphones. The latest news is that the Pro model will arrive in India soon after its launch in China. Tipster Mukul Sharma claims that iQOO Neo 9 Pro will be launched in India in January 2024. It will have a red and white dual-tone design and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. iQOO has confirmed that the smartphone will be available in Nautical Blue, White Soul, and Fighting Red and Black hues.
In China, iQOO is launching iQOO Neo 9, iQOO Neo 9 Pro, iQOO Watch and iQOO TWS 1e together on December 27.
