Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 series will make its global launch on January 4, with India being the first market outside of China to get it. But it seems that the Chinese smartphone maker is already working on the next-generation Redmi Note 14 series for the Chinese market, which will take on the Realme 12 series.

According to the latest reports from Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu, the Redmi Note 14 series will hit the Chinese market in the first quarter of 2024. As usual, it will carry multiple units, probably Redmi Note 14, Note 14 Pro and Note. 14Pro+. If rumors are to be believed, the series aims to take on the Realme 12 series and most likely the Pro series.

Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+, both will likely come with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. The Pro model will get a 32 MP Sony IMX709 telephoto lens with 2x optics while the Pro+ will get a 64 MP OmniVision OV64B periscope lens with 3x optical zoom capabilities. Similarly, the Redmi Note 14 series will primarily focus on camera performance and hence would choose a similar rear camera setup as the Realme 12 series. Redmi Note 13 Pro+ became the first-ever Redmi phone to feature a rear camera setup. 200 MP, which means Redmi Note 14 Pro+ could also bring such features.

Coming back to the Redmi Note 14 series, we might see the Chinese launch sometime in September as it will follow in the footsteps of its predecessors. As usual, the global launch will begin in January or February next year.

Reports suggest that the Redmi Note 14 series will get a curved edge display, telephoto lens/periscope, and some flagship-level specifications possibly priced around CNY 2,000, which is almost the same as the rumored Realme series 12 Pro.
