At the top, a hump hosts LiDAR sensors accompanied by eight infrared sensors, while at the bottom, several wheels facilitate smooth movement throughout your home. Despite its compact design, measuring approximately 4 inches in height, the DreameBot D9 Max proves adept at navigating under most furniture.

In terms of design specifics, the robot comes with essential components including a power dock, mop, water tank, dusting brush, side brush, cleaning brush, HEPA filter and an instruction manual.

Setting up the device for its first use is a simple process. Download the Dreamehome app to your phone, connect the charging station to a power outlet, and connect the included accessories to the DreameBot D9 Max. When creating your Dreame app account and adding the device, you will be asked to grant permission for a quick scan of your home to create an effective cleaning map. This initial scan, which takes approximately 20 minutes, may vary depending on the size of your home. Notably, the LiDAR sensor impressively captures areas such as balconies without physically venturing there.

The Dreame Home app enhances user control over the map, allowing room labeling, creating no-go zones, and adjusting cleaning settings. Additionally, the app lets you set up cleaning schedules and sequences for different rooms based on your preferences. Overall, the setup process is user-friendly, requiring minimal technical expertise to get the DreameBot D9 Max up and running.

Dreamebot D9 Max Review: Cleaning and Mopping Floors

Wondering about the floor cleaning prowess of the DreameBot D9 Max? Let's go. This robot vacuum impresses with its efficient floor cleaning capabilities, with a robust 4000Pa suction capacity that efficiently collects dust and debris from the floor without requiring your intervention. Throughout our review, we primarily used auto mode, allowing the DreameBot D9 Max to intelligently detect the type of surface, whether floor or carpet, and adjust its intensity suction accordingly. For optimal results, it is advisable to navigate obstacles, to ensure that the device can navigate seamlessly and not leave any areas untouched.

When it comes to the cleaning process, the DreameBot D9 Max follows a systematic approach. Upon receiving an order to clean a specific section or room, it diligently covers all corners before starting the cleaning process in a Z pattern. To test its effectiveness, we intentionally scattered some dust and trash in our living room. The DreameBot D9 Max demonstrated its powerful motor, tackling debris effectively.

A notable feature is the Carpet Boost option, which automatically engages maximum suction power when the device detects a carpet on the floor. This ensures thorough and effective carpet cleaning.

Additionally, the robot is equipped with a 270ml water tank that has a Velcro mop pad. Activating cleaning mode is child's play: simply clip the water tank and the machine automatically switches to cleaning mode. The app allows you to adjust the cleaning intensity according to your preferences. Although the mopping feature has proven effective for general cleaning, it may struggle to remove stubborn stains in a single attempt. Water consumption is conservative, and while I would have preferred a little more humidity for a wetter mop, overall the DreameBot D9 Max left me happy with its results after cleaning, providing a clean floor.

Dreamebot D9 Max review: battery life

The DreameBot D9 Max is equipped with a robust 5,200 mAh battery and its effectiveness depends on the cleaning mode chosen. In my experience, using the powerful suction setting, it efficiently swept my 1,685 square foot home in about 20 minutes, leaving 73% of the battery power remaining. Likewise, in Sweep and Mop mode, the device returned to the charging dock with a respectable 65% battery level.

For more demanding cleaning tasks, turbo mode was occasionally activated. Although this mode has higher power consumption, pushing the vacuum motor to full capacity, I did not observe complete battery drain during use. In the rare case that the battery level is low, the DreameBot D9 Max automatically returns to the charging dock, replenishes some of the battery, and resumes cleaning the remaining area seamlessly. This intelligent charge and resume feature ensures uninterrupted cleaning performance.

Dreamebot D9 Max review: Interview

Maintaining the DreameBot D9 Max requires regular attention on your part. The trash can, for example, should be cleaned every three or four days, depending on the size of your living space. Fortunately, the process of removing and cleaning the bin is simple and doesn't require a lot of effort.

After each use, it is essential to clean the cleaning pad to ensure optimal performance in subsequent cleaning sessions. Also, before activating the cleaning function, make sure to fill the water tank.

To maintain efficiency, a little effort is required to clean the main sweeping brush regularly. This brush tends to accumulate hairs and threads, which affects its effectiveness. A weekly cleaning routine should be sufficient for most users.

It should be noted that, like other robot cleaners, the DreameBot D9 Max requires replacement of certain components when they reach the end of their life cycle. This includes the HEPA filter, brushes, and mop pad. Depending on the application, these components typically have a lifespan of approximately 150 to 300 hours. To make this easier, the Dreame Home Companion app lets you track the lifespan of these components, ensuring quick replacements for consistent performance.

For me, the DreameBot D9 Max stands out as a viable alternative to traditional housekeeping assistance, delivering satisfactory cleaning results on demand. Particularly beneficial for busy professionals and their families, this product is proven to deliver scheduled daily cleaning, allowing you to focus on your routine activities.

The DreameBot D9 Max shows its effectiveness in reaching hard-to-reach places. It excels at sweeping floors for dust, providing deep cleaning where manual efforts may fail.

However, it should be noted that for more stubborn stains, such as spills from dried overnight tea, a little help with pre-soaking or scrubbing may be needed before asking the DreameBot D9 Max to pass the mop.
