Early prototypes hint at possible iPhone 16 design changes Apple may be considering،

A recent report from MacRumors shows that Apple may be considering a new vertical camera setup for its iPhone 16 after all. Initially, rumors that the company would adopt a vertical camera design for the upcoming phone surfaced in May via Twitter. Preliminary prototypes from MacRumors reveal that the Cupertino-based tech giant may be working on more than just rearranging camera lenses. Apparently, Apple is testing different designs for the camera on its iPhone 16. Rumor has it that two separate camera setups are currently being considered: an iPhone 12-style camera and an iPhone on two cameras stacked on top of each other, while the second features a pill-shaped housing housing the camera lenses.

In terms of size, the iPhone12 the camera bump is larger and more rectangular, while the pill-shaped camera layout is a bit smaller and, naturally, oval-shaped. The Cupertino-based tech giant is rumored to favor iPhone12-style in its tests. As for the flash, it would keep the same position as the iPhone 15.
Beyond the camera, Apple is also reportedly working to unify side controls across its entire lineup. To do this, the tech giant would introduce the action button in its next iPhone16 series. If true, the company could phase out the Mute switch, an integral part of the iPhone's touch control design since 2007.

The Action Button debuted with the iPhone 15 Pro. It allows users to assign different functions, activating them with a long press. Currently, it is assumed that capacitive capacities will be added to it. Therefore, users might be able to trigger the action button with a single tap rather than a long press.

Another widespread feature that could come to everyone iPhone16 models, the so-called capacitive “Capture” button would also be being tested. So far, rumor has it that this button could be used as another shortcut for capturing videos and photos. As for its position, it could replace the mmWave antenna cutout, with the antenna moved to the left side of the device, possibly below the volume controls.

It should be noted that all of these designs are still preliminary. In other words, by September of next year, Apple could choose to take a completely different approach to the type of changes it will introduce with the iPhone16 design.
