One of the problems that has arisen with the Google Tensor chipset is the propensity of the component to overheat. This has never been more obvious than when looking at a photo of a Pixel 6 Pro that has been opened to reveal a rectangular-shaped charred area inside the phone, where the heatsink used to be. This component sucks the heat generated by the phone and disperses it.
As you can see in the photo posted on Reddit by a member zybernau (via Wccftech), the heatsink absorbed a lot of heat that was likely created by the Tensor chip, the first version of the application processor (AP). It should come as no surprise that the reason the phone underwent an autopsy was because it stopped working after two years due to heat damage. The reason for this thermal damage, however, is surprising. The owner of the phone said that Pixel 6 Pro overheated and died after making a 10-minute phone call.
The Tensor G5 will not only be customized by Google, but it will also be manufactured by TSMC using its 3nm process node, meaning it will be a more powerful and more power-efficient chipset. These are improvements Pixel users, especially those using a Pixel 6 or later model, would like to see, along with an app processor that's less likely to overheat a phone and leave it permanently damaged after a call 10 minute phone call.

If your phone starts to overheat, the best thing to do is stop the activity that caused the phone to heat up and turn it off until it cools down. Continuous use of the phone in case of overheating may cause the device to die, just like the Pixel 6 Pro in the photo, which is nothing more than a paperweight.
