Bug, hair, and excessive glue: Some OnePlus 12 buyers have been grossed out،
For a brief moment, the OnePlus 12 seemed almost perfect. It has the brightest screen of any phone, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, the impressive OnePlus Open camera array, excellent haptics, a large battery, fast charging, wireless charging and a good amount of RAM. However, nothing in the world is perfect.
By posts on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, some OnePlus 12 units suffer from quality control issues. As Android Authority Notes, the images show that there are gaps between the camera array and the rear window.
This doesn't appear to be a widespread issue and judging from the photos, the gap between the camera island and the glass panel is not significant. That's forgivable, right?
What should not be overlooked is that there is a hair and a real bug inside the rear window of a unit. It's disgusting and one of the apparent reasons the poor bugs and strands of hair got stuck there is because a lot of glue was used during the assembly process. The insect couldn't get out in time.
This is surely not a good idea for a phone that has not yet made its international debut and competitors could use this opportunity to show that the OnePlus 12 is not a good buy.

The general manager of Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand, Lu Weibing, has already started to throw indirect shade at OnePlus. Without naming names, he said excess glue gaps and problems are caused by low internal standards. He even seems to imply that people make the OnePlus 12 because of these issues, but we don't know if it's true. What a bad start for a phone that has a strong chance of being the best phone of this year.
