Aprilia unveiled the much-awaited RS 457 sports motorcycle at India Bike Week 2023, pricing it at Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned to deliver the performance and precision synonymous with larger Aprilia motorcycles at a more accessible price, the RS 457 marks a milestone as the first Aprilia motorcycle manufactured in India. Production takes place at the Piaggio Group facilities in Baramati, Maharashtra. Enthusiasts can secure their RS 457 by booking online or at Motoplex outlets from December 15, with deliveries expected to begin in March 2024.
Aprilia RS 457 Design and Specifications
Taking inspiration from its big brother, the RS 660, the RS 457 reflects its design philosophy with standout features like the distinctive three-module LED headlight and other notable highlights. A nod to Aprilia's championship heritage, this motorcycle offers enthusiasts a selection of three color palettes to choose from.
The RS 457 is powered by a freshly designed 457cc parallel-twin engine, featuring a 270-degree crankshaft, liquid cooling and a DOHC cylinder head. This engine produces an impressive 47 hp and 48 Nm of torque, perfectly coordinated with a 6-speed gearbox.
Built on a perimeter frame with a bolt-on subframe, the RS 457 stands out with its sophisticated electronics. It is equipped with three riding modes, three levels of switchable traction control, dual-channel ABS and the option of an additional quick shift, ensuring a dynamic and customizable driving experience.
As for its cycle components, the RS 457 is equipped with a front suspension featuring a 41mm USD fork, offering 120mm of travel, and a rear monoshock with 130mm of travel, all two adjustable in preload.
