Sam Altman’s iPhone had the biggest meltdown after he was fired،

Sam Altman was the face of the not-so-small AI revolution that surprised the world this year. So it was natural to be shocked when he was fired from OpenAI, the company behind the immensely popular chatbot ChatGPT. And it wasn't just human beings that were picked up, even Altman's iPhone needed a hot minute to process everything that was happening.

While we don't know which iPhone Altman owns, we're betting he owns one of the recent models. Still, the news of Altman's ouster was too much for the fast Bionic chipset.

Speaking to Trevor Noah on his podcast, Altman said his iPhone stopped working after being fired from OpenAI (via Business Insider). After being asked to leave, Altman was bombarded with so many messages and notifications that it became impossible to use his phone for a while. iMessage also collapsed under the pressure and temporarily stopped working.

These were of course not messages of condolence. After OpenAI President Greg Brockman and other employees left the company to protest the decision, people interested in working with Altman began messaging him. People have no shortage of time to shoot.

My phone was simply unusable because it was just non-stop notifications. iMessage did this thing where it stopped working for a while, then messages were delivered late, then it marked everything as read.”

Altman was upset and confused after OpenAI board decided to fire him

Sam Altman was reinstated as CEO of OpenAI less than a week after he was fired after immense pressure from employees and investors.

Altman said OpenAI's decision to fire him confused him and he had difficulty accepting the news. The board never gave a clear reason for its decision and only said that Altman “has not always been forthright in his communications with the board.”
